Pulau Weh: an interesting diving spot

Discover the Dive Sites

Before going down from Iboih Beach we were told not to stay too long on the surface because the current is quite large and below that you can meet various types of currents. I only have experience of 'playing' with the current. If I don't go with the flow, just go against the current, so I have no idea about other currents. During the dive you can see quite a lot of sea creatures, such as sand rays, box fish, various sea rabbits and cuttlefish (a type of squid), sea eels and shrimp.

So, towards the end of my dive, I usually go up quickly because of the effect of an empty tank, so when it suddenly goes up, I think it's okay. But when I looked down, it turned out that my other friends were having a hard time holding their bodies so they wouldn't go up. Well... it turns out that I went up it wasn't because the tank was empty, but because it was hit by an up current. Finally, with great difficulty first descending to a depth of 5 meters and holding the body as strong as possible, then rising to the surface.

In my opinion, the Pulau Weh Diving are quite diverse and coincidentally the spots I dived yesterday were almost all a bit tense but exciting! It is one of best Sumatra diving as also one of the best Sumatra vacation packages. What is certain is, pay attention and obey the instructions from the guide during the diving period and don't force yourself to go down if you don't feel confident with yourself. Happy diving!
